I am broadly interested in making deep networks learn as effectively as animal brains. This includes lifelong learning as well as mechanisms that allow higher-level cognition to emerge naturally (working memory, top-down/attentional control, concepts, compositionality, ...). I care a lot about cognitive science and neuroscience as inspiration for deep learning algorithms and cognitive architectures.
